A Spider’s Tale (Acquired)

No one thinks of spiders as nurturers, least of all me. Yet their work is referenced in ancient African folklore and recently in quantum mechanics as a metaphor for how the universe is connected.

The umbrella in this painting is a literal reference of connectedness and that a mother would be drawn to this design is interesting. I wondered what wisdom she imparts to her son and if she knows how far it reaches back.
